  Individual & group psychotherapist...

Group Information

(by appointment only –– no drop-ins)
(starting January 2019)

Location: Spicewood Springs Road (between MOPAC & Mesa Drive)

Cost: $200/month (4 sessions/per month)

Timeframe: This is an open group which will continue indefinitely as long as there are 3 or more active members.  Members graduate from the group when they feel they have made satisfactory progress toward their self-defined goals.  New members will be accepted whenever total membership falls below 11.

Description: The Support Group for Emerging Psychotherapists offers a safe space for exploration and processing of personal, interpersonal, and emotional challenges (and triumphs!) along the way to becoming a self-loving, self-aware, and self-assured person and psychotherapist. The Support Group for Emerging Psychotherapists is ideal for students and professionals who are dedicated to improving their psychotherapy practice through personal reflection, growth, and insight. This is NOT a case consultation or supervision group.

Membership Requirements: The Support Group for Emerging Psychotherapists is for new psychotherapists, from their first day of graduate school up to two years after attaining licensure for independent psychotherapy practice.  Membership is open to all disciplines that offer licensure for independent psychotherapy practice (Clinical Social Work; Counseling; Marriage & Family Therapy; Counseling & Clinical Psychology; Psychiatry).  A free, 30-minute pre-group consultation is required to assess mutual fit between potential members and the group.

Joining the Group

If you are interested in joining the Support Group for Emerging Psychotherapists, call/text me at 512-806-0137 or fill out the form below.  I will contact you as soon as possible to schedule a free, 30-minute pre-group consultation.  If the group is currently full, I will offer to place you on a waiting list.  Scheduling a pre-group consultation is not a commitment to join the group.  The pre-group consultation is a structured, informal, one-on-one meeting where we will discuss:

  • Your experiences of and/or interests in psychotherapy practice
  • Why you are interested in the group
  • What you would like to gain from participation in the group
  • Expectations for group members
  • Your questions and concerns about the group
  • Other relevant information

At the end of the consultation, if we both feel that the group is a good fit for you, you will sign a group agreement and determine your start date.

I sincerely look forward to seeing you in group!
